Sekkoji Temple (Sekkoji)
In this temple, there is a well called Somenoi. It was used by Princess Chujyo (Chujyo-hime) to dye the lotus fiber threads. The threads were used to weave the famous Taima Mandala.
The temple is also renowned for its beautiful peonies. Many come to see the Spring peonies in April and May, and Winter peonies from the end of November to the end of January.
Katsuragi City Peony Festival : April 15 to May 15
Many writers have visited this elegant temple. There is a monument to poet of Yosano Tekkan and his wife Akiko in the garden attached to the temple.
