Nabezuka Tumulus (Nabezuka Kofun)
The Nabezuka Kofun is a round tumulus of 40 meters in diameter. It is estimated to have been made around the beginning of the mid tumulus period, 401 - 425 AD. It is comparatively old for a big tumulus in the city, and marks the start of tumulus-making in the northern part of Katsuragi City.
Those who made the Nabezuka Tumulus were thought to be the people who used to live in Takenouchi ruins. They were powerful people who were in complete control of Takenouchi Pass, a stronghold of transportation from ancient times.
