Yashikiyama Park (Yashikiyama Koen)
Yashikinuma Park is a composite park of historic spots with a gross area of 58,000 square meters, at the foot of Mt. Katsuragi. There are the Yashikiyama Tumulus, a Public Hall, Gymnasium, Library, Playground, and it is the base of cultural and sports activities.
Every year in May, the Park Festival is held, and in July the Fireworks Festival. Many people visit these events.
Yashikiyama Tumulus is a 135 meter-long keyhole-shaped tumulus made in the middle of the 5th century. It is said to have connection with Katsuragishi, a powerful clan in the ancient times. It is appointed as National Historic Site.
