Chrysanthemums - October
Chrysanthemum is symbol of Japan as well as cherry blossom.
They are said to have come from China in Nara Period. They are grown in many places in Katsufagi City because the climate at the foot of the Katsuragi Mountains is suitable. We produce 70 % of two-flowered chrysanthemums in Japan that are used for flower arrangement.
Chrysanthemum is one of the Katsuragi's officially designated flower.
Locations: Various places in the city.
Every year, Chrysanthemum exhibitions are held at Taima Cultural Hall and in front of Shinjyo Government Office Building of the City Office.
